Lime Chicken and Lentil Chili

Recently made this for a Chili Cook-off and it went pretty well :) Please enjoy! I used Lentils instead of beans....because I'm not a fan of a TON of beans. So give it a try :)

Lime Chicken and Lentil Chili

Ingredients

Olive Oil

2 pounds Chicken Breast(white or dark, your choice, chopped)

1 green bell pepper, cored, seeded and chopped

1 medium yellow onion, chopped

1 teaspoon basil leaved

2 tablespoons ground cumin

1 teaspoon dried oregano

Salt to taste

2 bay leaf

2 Limes

1 can of Tomato Paste

1 (4-ounce) can diced green chiles(Goya Brand is good!)

1 small jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped

3 cups low-sodium chicken broth

2 cups of Green or French Lentils(Soak in hot water for 45minutes)

Heat some olive oil in a large pot over medium high heat. Add chicken(You can salt and pepper to taste) juice of one lime, and cook, stirring often, until browned. Transfer to a bowl to add Later. Add some more olive oil into the pot, bell pepper and onion and cook until softened and golden brown. Return Chicken to the pot and add basil, cumin, oregano, Juice of one lime and salt. Stir well to combine. Add bay leaf, tomato paste, chiles, jalapeños and broth, reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 45 to 50 minutes. Stir in lentils and cook for 30-45 minutes more. Serve with whatever condiments you would like :) Enjoy!

Alright....I can admit it. I'm pretty damn smitten by my Boyfriend. Things he has accomplished, and places he has been amazes me. He is a great support for me and my endeavors and vice versa. If you guys haven't experienced a DJ Forge Party or a Party by one of the Members in his crew, You are MISSING out. Call me biased, but I'm not the only one that shares the love for DJ Forge. Dinner I made yesterday! Got the Zuchini Puffs, Mixed Herb Salad, Spinach Gozleme, and my Siracha Lime Chicken. A closer look at the Zuchini Puffs...But before that..... Did I mention that My Boyfriend is the SHIT? Got my Birthday Present early.....Meet Rosie :)

I've wanted one of these stand mixers FOREVER!!!! All those long nights of hand mixing and kneading at over!!!!...okay maybe not, but when I have the random urges to bake in the middle of the night I will make things go by much faster :)

I made these Spinach and Feta Gozleme from Milk and Cookies! Been wanting to try it for some time....but didn't want to mess up the dough. Thanks to the new mixer...VOILA!!!!! The dough was springy and grilled up nice and crusty on the outside, but was soft and fluffy on the inside :)

Check the Feta n and Spinach inside...YUM.

Also tried Pastor Ryan's Egg Noodle recipe from Pioneer Woman!!!! This was REALLLYYY simple, and I LOVEEEDDD how quickly it cooked. The noodles were kinda extra al dente...which i liked. I threw together my own Lemon Shrimp Alfredo sauce with the leftover cream I had in the fridge! :) Delish.

Zucchini Puffs
From Milk and Cookies, Monday, November 05, 2007

Ingredients

3 x 150g large zucchini (courgettes) shaved into ribbons
¼ cup thinly sliced mint leaves
3 eggs
¼ cup self-raising flour
sea salt and cracked black pepper
vegetable oil for shallow-frying

Place the zucchini, mint, eggs, flour, salt and pepper in a bowl and stir well to combine.
Heat 1cm of oil in a large non-stick frypan over medium heat.
Add about 2 tablespoonfuls of the mixture and shallow-fry in batches for 1-2 minutes each side or until puffed up and golden.

So I found this site to be VERY intersting. Pretty good idea actually since I would have to say 75% of purchases are on impulse and you end up only wearing something once or twice. "Wear Today Gone Tomorrow" let's you rent designer pieces for 90% off the retail price, you wear it, and then return it. They then organically dry clean it and it gets rented to someone else. Could be the start of a trend for such things with everybody being so careful about spending money. Check it out.

Anh-Tuan gave me a big bag of sample Raw Denim scraps from manufacturers that he was going to throw away. I figured i could do something with it, so I just started draping and this is what I came up with. More progress pictures as I go along. For now, I just wanted something really girly. I like all the contrasting shades and textures of raw denim in the tiers, it will be more of a impact once i finish adding the different layers. Hoping it turns out alright ^_^

Tomato Basil Pizza is probably my most favorite type of Pizza! I think it has to do with living in South America and being used to always having slices of tomato on Pizzas. I love the aroma of the baked Basil baked into the cheese. Jordan loves White Pizza, so I also tried to tackle something with white sauce. I found a simple Pizza dough recipe and altered it as I went cause I had a lot of trouble getting the right consistency of the dough. It was also my first time working with yeast so I was a little hesitant. Overall, It was fun and super tasty! The dough ended up being really crispy like thin crust. I need to let the dough cure longer next time, but overall It turned out pretty good. I spend like 40 minutes grating different cheeses though O_o but it was worth it! Check out the yummy pictures!

Jordan ended up having to work and DJ all weekend for V-day weekend. I had a couple days of vacation to spare, and work has been burning me out quite a bit, decided to take em sunday monday that weekend to coincide with Jordan's Days off. Of course, with our luck, we ended up going the two coldest days of the week....but who can complain. We were getting out of Raleigh and staying somewhere where we had no obligations to do anything else other than relaxing and bumming. Also, we forgot to take into account it is the off season (oops...^_^;;;;) so nothing was really open. All in all, we did everything we would do in a normal weekend off together, bum around drinking and watching movies :) Just as equally enjoyable... ^_^

I've been collecting Recipes like a mad woman. Not sure why, but I am starting to think i should have gone to culinary school cause my baking obsession is starting to be up to par with my sewing obsession O_o. I am not a fan of fruit, never have been since I was a kid. Scary I know. I do however, like the way fruit looks! I think Raspberry's are so dainty(...yea I said it :P) and Jordan said he loved them, so I opted to try out this recipe. Again back to the Lemon-Lime obsession I was talking about earlier. I've made chocolate muffins and blueberry muffins, so it was time for something new and a flavor you don't find in a box at the supermarket. Sooo...here we go!

Notes: I opted with Frozen Raspberries just like in the Recipe. Raspberries are not in season so i got some frozen organic ones from Whole Foods. Also I had to go for Normal cane sugar instead of caster sugar since i couldn't find it and i didn't have a grinder to grind the sugar. Still worked okay, but I wonder how much it effects it :-/

I made this on Valentines day, kind of in a rush because We had to sneak in dinner between Jordan getting off work and going to Itz in Fayeteville to DJ. It didn't marinade for as long as it should and I overcooked the steak a bit, but overall, it's looks nice in presentation and was still quiet yummy. Went to watch Coraline on Friday by myself ^___^ To tell you the truth, Nightmare Before Christmas wasn't really one of me favorite movie, and it creeped me out, so I wasn't so sure I wanted to see this movie. However, it was written by Neil Gaiman, so that reason in itself was totally worth to me...but I also wanted to watch it to get a chance to get my hands on these:

The Flying Biscuit

Supa and Ann SWORE up and down on this place. I think Jordan was just excited that this place lets you substitute Turkey Bacon for everything and had their own type of Chicken Sausage. Ironically a week after Supa and Ann came to visit, Jordan got a E-mail from the Independent saying a Flying Biscuit had opened in Cameron Village. The wait wasn't too bad the first time we went, about 10-15minutes. The menu is great, lots of signature dishes and appetizers like the Oven-Roasted "Moon Dusted" Rosemany Potatoes, The Flying Biscuit(Duh), The Flying Fried Green Tomatoes, and their Love Cakes(Black bean & cornmeal cakes sauted and topped with tomatillo sauce..YUM). I've only tried a couple of those....but GOODLAWDALMIGHTY the Grits are AMAZING....Border Line Obscene. I am definately eyeing the Shrimp & Grits Entree for the next time I go. So if you are bored of Waffle House and Ihop, and want to splurge a little, Check The Flying Biscuit out....Experience the Grits I tell you :P And Now to the pictures! I swear Cameron Village is blowing up! Jordan and I were set on going to Flying Biscuit for Round 2 (more on that in my next post :P) because we FINALLY got one of them about a week and a half ago. We hit up Ricky, Sophany, Dime and his girl meet us over there because it is our rightful duty to spread the deliciousness of Flying Biscuit to all hahahaha. We got there, and already the wait was over a hour. Little did I know a Noodle & Company had open in the next shopping center unit. Now I had heard a lot of mixed reviews on the place, but If i had to wait any longer I would have chewed my arm off. Overall....It was okay. For the Price and the Amount of food you get, it was decent. The menu seemed pretty healthy concious, with essentially every dish having a vegeterian counterpart. Out of 5 I'd give it 3.5 It was quick, and Satisfying. And now for the yummy part....PICTURES!

Best Movie Of the Year..and it's only Feb: Slumdog Millionaire

I can't even remember the last time I watched a movie...and at the end of the movie, wanting to sit back and just say 'wow'. I think the last time I really felt that way was when I watched "Pride and Prejudice" which is my go-to movie for a shitty day(This is debatable by many I am sure :P). An encounter like this is made even better when you go in not expecting ANYTHING from the movie, so when it ends, you are left with nothing but full content and satisfaction. Slumdog Millionaire was just that. The movie is about Jamal, and boy who grew up in the Dubai Slums, who is now one question away from winning 20 million rupees in the Indian version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire". He is now in question by the police to figure out how a boy from the slums can know all the answers to the questions when doctors and lawyers can barely get through half the show. I can't even say more because it would ruin the experience of this movie, so that is the premises I walked into the movie with. Go Watch it.....and if you didn't get that the first time..again. GO WATCH IT. Seriously. It did not get 80 million Oscar nominations for no reason.

I am not sure I've really mentioned this in previous blog posts, but for those who don't know, I spent most of my childhood in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I would have to say the 5 years I lived there were the happiest and most carefree that I ever really felt. Life in Latin America is so different from here, people are carefree, and take the time to really enjoy life and It always felt like everybody was family. In a effort to keep my mind off the rough week i've had, one night, sitting at work at 3:00am, I thought about times that made me happy and things that make me feel good. By now you should know one of those things is food. I thought about when I was a kid and eating on my favorite snacks in Argentina and how I missed those things: Alfajores, BonBons, and drinking Guarana. After a little Google-ing, I found Amigo Foods. They are a company in Miami carrying all types of Latin America foods from different countries with a assortments ranging from snacks, desserts, sauces, and beverages. It has been so long, I was wondering if they still carried the same brands I used to eat. Fortunately the bonbon brands that I loved still is one of the most popular ones, so they had those. Unfortunately though, my favorite Alfajores brand(Blanco y Negro) no longer makes them. Now before I go any further, for those who don't know:

Alfajores:

'An alfajor (Spanish, in IPA: [alfa'xoɾ]; plural alfajores) is a traditional cookie of Argentina, found also in some regions of Spain and in countries of Latin America like Mexico, Uruguay and Perú. Its basic form consists of two round sweet biscuits joined together with dulce de leche or jam and covered with powdered sugar. In most alfajores there are two layers of cake, and a filling in between.

Though the food has been popular in Argentina and Uruguay since the mid 19th century, it has its roots in the Middle East. The name alfajor is derived from Arabic ﺍلفﺸﺮ IPA: [alfaˈʃur], which means "stuffed" or "filled". The archetypal alfajor entered Iberia during the period of al-Andalus.'

'Cashew-nut creme filled chocolate balls with a crispy wafer center'

Though not a instant gratification method, I inpulsively ordered two boxes of alfajores(one chocolate covered, and one white choloate covered) and A box of Garoto Bonbons. Three days later they were here O_o. Now it seems a lot has now built up around these little desserts. I was really hoping that I hadn't all just made this up in my juvenile brain, and I would appreciate all this as much as I did 15 years ago. Alas....I was right :) ***heavenly music***

Soooo working for the Airlines has SOME perks. Sayyyyyy....I got a tip on a CRAZY Tokidoki First ever Sample sale in NYC...and I needed to go there ASAP, I could :) And I DID...! I knew about the sale for a couple weeks and had been kind of torn whether I should put myself through the torture of temptation. With so real prior engagements...The BF with no Saturday Gig for once....and amazingly extremely open flights to LGA for the weekend, I figured all signs were pointing to the inevitable and the BF and I jetted up to NYC for the day. At first we made plans to stay the night but we ended up having to head back early.....seems like 9 hours was all I really needed anyway. Last year I was part of SparkCon:FashionSpark along with FYSH. SparkCon is a annual event here in Raleigh, which is a week of nothing but showcasing local talents in the Triangle area. Every day of the week is a different event. Tonite for First Friday, SparkCon is screening last years Fashion Show at Mosquitos. So much has been going on the past couple weeks, and I have a million things to blog about, but above all right now, I feel like this takes priority over everything.

I'm a Godmommy

Kristen and I have been best friends since the 6th grade. I'll never forget the day she stood up for me in Social Studies class when a boy was making fun of me for my Sailor Moon pencil case. She promptly scolded the boy for his remarks and went back to being the shy quiet girl she was. Over the next few years, we realized we had so much in common, and since then, we seemed to realized that we had to have been sisters in another life. Kristen is one of those friends that you have maybe only one in your entire lifetime. The friend that you can always count on to be there for you even if you have never spoken in months, and when you do, it's like you had never left off. She's the friend that you have never argued with in your entire life and seems to always be able to know exactly what your thinking of or what you plan on doing.

To sound kinda nerdy, for our High School senior superlatives we where voted "Most Likely to be Friends Forever". Though something as silly as Senior superlatives, and what others may seem to think is a popularity contest, actually was pretty meaningful to me. To be honest, that really was what it was, a popularity contest. Kristen and I were no way by far considered one of the popular girls, or a prep in high school, but it was a honor to be recognized by our fellow classmates for something like this. I guess to me it meant that even others who didn't know us well, could see how strongly we loved each other as friends.

Kristen is taking many new steps in her life, and I'm glad i can be there for her. She gave me to the honor of being a Godmother to her new baby girl: Amara Nayomi Porter. I'm proud that she chose me and I'm warning her now.....I'm going to spoil her. Just look at her face and you guys will see why :)

After yesterdays succesful use of (work)time perusing food blogs, I continued looking for dessert recipes only to stumble upon "Aapplemint". Kate who lives in Ghana, but also travels to India for work, provides readers with a wide variety of more exotic recipes, using ingredients and produce found native in the countries(and her backyard!). The food pictures are beautiful but what I really enjoy is how she incorporates all the Cultural background behind the food ingredients and also shares insight on the every day traditions native to the countries. Her Blog is still somewhat new compared to the last one but the content is just as good :)

I'm really excited to try the Jasmine Ice Cream Recipe and The Aloe Vera Coolers. Who has a Ice Cream Machine I can borrow!?!?!? :)

It's called "Milk and Cookies" by a girl named Jennifer living in Sidney Australia. So I dunno what kinda stuff my moms been dumping into the dirt, but it REALLY worked O_O Last year we bought a bunch of discount bulbs and seeds and planted em last season, and kinda forgot about em. My mom has been chucking a bunch of different compost types like leftover fruit peels and vegetables all over the garden for the past 5 months....This is the result of it. We haven't had so much blooming in a long time :) This makes me happy :)

I've been so busy working and cleaning up the house of the big move, I haven't had a chance to see the boys in a while. So last Saturday I spent it with the guys cause I wanted to see the new FYSH office downtown. So pictures from the day :)

We made it down to Glenwood to check out the new FYSH office that I had not seen. I think We are only gonna stay there till August, and look for a better location soon :) But I do like being on Glenwood because of all the stores, cafes, and boutiques.

After the office we took a short stroll down the block to The Cupcake Shoppe. They opened a couple months ago and has been a favorite cafe among all the ones down glenwood. The cupcakes are quite delicious, so anybody that hasn't stopped by that is in the area definately should. I suggest the "You Mocha me Crazy" if you are a Coffee fiend like me :)

We walked a couple blocks down to visit our good friends at FM Goods. Jack was there so we decided to hang out for a while. FM Goods has all the big name streetwear brands(including FYSH! hahaha) so stop by if you haven't been to yet. Jack and Merlin are the coolest guys in the world so stop by and say hi to them :)

Last Year I did this Fashion Show for Spark Con. SparkCon is a annual event here in Raleigh, which is a week of nothing but showcasing local talents in the Triangle area. Hopefully i will have a new line out by then. They recently posted the videos from the show, so below is the my line as well as the Fysh Line. Zspotlight.com is the Triangle entertainment guide here in NC. Two months ago they started this contest called "The DJ Vynil Project". It's a 12 week contest hosted by Riviera Restaurant to help them find a new resident DJ. Dj's were asked to send in a mix for pre-selection and 11 DJ's were picked for the first round of the contest. The prize in $1,000 dollars and a 6 month contract with Riviera restaurant. My boy DJ Forge has made it through all the rounds so far! And now only 4 DJ's are left!!! I think this is a pretty cool ass pack. I was surfing around and ran into the Giant Panda Dunk High's that are part of this pack. I looked some more and found the info on the rest of the pack. I think I'm a fan of the lows, but overall, it's a pretty cool pack and once you read about it, it will all make sense. :) Check em out:

First Friday at FM Goods Five Star Party

This past weekend was pretty damn awesome :) It was good times, and kind of a party everyday hahaha. So Sunday was Jordan's birthday and we decided we should start celebrating early cause he is a workaholic and is scheduled to work on his Birthday :P. So friday night we had dinner at Fujisan, which was delicious and ridiculously filling. It was pretty much just like kanki only with a extra serving of noodles.

He was really excited about the hibachi steak :P

That night we went to the monthly first friday FMGoods after party with the "Blacklisted Dj's: DJ Merlin, Son of Sam, and Thien". We pretty much used this as a distraction for Jordan since we had other plans for him the following night that he was not aware of ^___^ Basically we had a surprise ambush at his house in the middle of the night planned but we needed him to believe that this night would have been his birthday celebration. More on that later :) Friday night at the party was a success: Good times, Good music, Good Friends, and a Drunk Jordan by the end of the night. Mission: SUCCESS.

Saturday I spent most of the day planning for the surprise party. I had to pick up decorations, balloons, and bake a cake :P I ended up baking a extremely flamboyant looking Strawberry chocolate cake that was extremely pink hahahahah But i figured by the time Jordan saw his cake it would be very early in the morning and he wouldn't have time to analyze it in his state of exhaustion and delirium. ^__^;;;;;;

So we headed over to Jordan's house around 1:30am. So how might you add did we accomplish this without having his keys ^___^;;;;; I secretly unlocked his patio windows when we made the sad excuse to borrow his bathroom before the party the night before. If only i had a video of Marco hopping over the balcony in the rain would this post be ever more complete.

Once we succesfully broke into the apartment, We ended up deciding to give Jordan's apartment a makeover for his birthday, cleaned up and decorated it....of course we had to have fun while doing it ^_____^ and most importantly, pictures to document the event.

Preparations were done around 3:30am, and I didn't expect him to be back till around 5am since he had to DJ in fayeteville. As we were grubbing and chillin, I got a call from the birthday boy saying he was 10 miles from home O_O Anyways, I quickly made up a excuse to hang up the phone when he got to his parking lot as we took our positions. The best part was as we heard him approach the door, we sensed some hesitation. It was then when i realized we forgot to lock the door. The most amusing thing was seeing the door open slowly, swing open, and a umbrella coming through the door. hahahahahha Poor Guy thought somebody broke into his apartment hahahaha. Anyway, we popped some party poppers in his face, had our laughs, cut the cake and opened presents :) Mission 2: SUCESSSSSSSSS

Federico Uribe x Puma

I saw this featured story on SoleCollector that made my mouth drop. Federico Uribe is known mostly for his scultures and figures he makes out of household objects. With the help of Puma, whom provided 25,000 shoelaces, 750 pairs of pumas, wood and over 22,000 metal screws, He was able to construct a 4,000 squarefoot exhibit named Human nature. Check out his exhibit images on his homepage, the workmanship is seriously unbelievable. The exhibit is right outside of Miami, But starting May 22nd, the exhibit will be at the Chelsea Art Museaum in New York, so I will definately be visiting it once it is moved there. Who wants to go?!!?!? :)

"Sono" on Fayeteville St. in Raleigh

So I will definately be including many food posts in this blog because....I like to eat....a lot :) Sushi is probably my favorite type of food, but in general I'm pretty open minded in trying all types of foods. So the other night we went to Sono in downtown Raleigh on Fayeteville Street. The Menu had a pretty good selection, especially the appetizers. For example, for dinner they have both cold appetizers and hot appetizers.

Now in order to make my food posts more succesful, I normally would now post numerous mouth watering drool worthy pictures...however...recently my stomach has a mind of it's own and I tend to inhale half the food before I even remember to pull out my camera. So for this post, I have only one picture...I know, shame on me.

Appetizers I would suggest to try:

Tobiko Shrimp: lightly battered jumbo shrimped dipped in a cocunut mayo sauce and spicy siracha sauce on a bed of frisee salad.

Wasabi Mashed Potatoes: mashed potatoes with a light wasabi after taste.

Firecracker Shrimp: Shrimp, cream cheese, and shrimp puree wrapped in spring roll skin and Mae-Ploy sweet n spicy sauce.

I have never been so full from appetizers in my whole life. It was pretty good! Pricey but good. This would be a nice place to take a girl on date, it's a pretty nice atmosphere.

Recap of NYC: Cold and Rainy

Day 1

Came back yesterday, not too late. Definately beats last year....didn't take like 12 hours to get back because of random ass construction outside of DC this time :-D The boys actually wanted to hit up Woodbury Outlet Mall. Holy Shit this place was nuts...definately a HUGE difference between this and Smithfield Outlet Mall O_o We do not have Yves Saint Laurent or Diane Von Furstenberg. They did have a LeSportsac store...and tokidoki on FRIKIN sale. **sigh** oh I weap in my brokeness.

Finally got into the city after a long after noon of window shopping for me -__-. We ended up staying at The Carlton on Madison thanks to Mr. Kim hooking us up with a fantastic rate. The hotel was friendly the room was spacious, and the Bed was heaven so I was pretty damn happy ^_^

First day most everybody just ran around shopping. Did a quick run through SOHO, and made a pit stop at the Kid Robot warehouse sale...one of the many times we made a stop there. :-D We ended up going to Sushi Lounge of St. Marks which was a favorite of mine this past summer when I intern with William Ivey Long. Totally beats Sushi Blues for me cause the Sushi is 50% ALL DAY..andddd...50% martinis and drinks after 10pm. WOOT!...Too bad I have no pictures to report from this meal, because we were starving and i didn't even think about taking a shot. Sad i know. After dinner, I made a quick stop at Schoolbred's which is the new bar opened by William and his partner Robert. Had some drinks thanks to the boss, chatted with Donnie and Brian(Williams VP's), and then finally called it a day, cause we are all running on zero sleep.

Day 2

Started the day going down to Brooklyn to visit a family friend and deliver a purse she had given to me last summer to fix. She lives in this fantastic condo, and since her and her husband are both graphic designers, I always enjoy visiting. I hope to one day have a place like hers..hahaha...One day...in the DISTANT future i'm thinking hahaha.

Ended up dropping by the Kid Robot Sale and picked up the Tilt bag I wanted along with the Dunny and Tilt Wallet I was also eyeing. The day was pretty much almost over by this time. We headed back to the hotel to get ready for Dinner. Linda's boss suggested a cheap but fancy Thai place on 21st and Broadway called Rohm. It was pretty damn gooodddd, I had Beef Siracha Pad See-Euw and Chicken Tom-Kah soup. Not to mention the bottles of Reisling we went through O_o Dinner was nice, and we took our time since the weather was nothing but CRAP outside.

That night we met up with Ricky's homegirl Tiffany at Ultra on 26th. It was a good way to get everybody together, since our groups were split up most of the time. Karl and Priya came down from Boston to join us, and so did miss May. Overall, it was a good time, but everybody was so worn out from the past two days, most everybody headed back early.

After Ultra, we ended up heading to one of my favorite late night places to eat in Midtown, Tic Tock Diner on 34th and 8th and finally called it a night after that.

Day 3

Twas another day of shopping for everybody. John and I got a late start, so after we got ready I insisted on lunch at ECK!(Egg Custard King) cause I needed lots of food for little money. It's the best to get there lunch special, or hell, ANY of there specials. I ended up getting the Hong Kong style Chicken on Spaghetti which came with soup and milk tea, FOR ONLY $5.50. And the portions are gigantic.....So if you ever wanna hit this place up, go to the one of Grand st. not Mott. The one on Grand St. is wayyyy better.

I made a quick run to the fabric district to pick up a zipper for another alterations I had to do. I also had to show Sophany and Linda Mood to satisfy their Project Runway Fandom. After this the girls separated from me and the boys as we headed downtown to Reed Space and Alife. Reed Space had a good sale, so I ended up getting the boys at home some shirts. For some reason I was just not in the shopping mood at all, but that could have been due to the disgusting weather that had not stopped since the day before. On the way back we stopped by DQM and got lucky and met Yoshi from Fat Lace.

After all this we headed back to Soho to meet up with he girls and headed over to Chelsea for dinner at BBQ Chicken with everybody. This was probably the most fun night because it included delicious food(and free food), Karaoke, and Soju(not my fav...but in this case i'll make a exception). Apparently there is one in Greensboro...so might have to stop by sometime. Check out the Col-Pop below! After Dinner and lots of Karaoke, the girls and I made a mad dash to Pinkberry in the cold and then headed back to the hotel to pass out.

Day 4

Sunday we had a couple hours before we had to get on the road. We hit up our favorite convenience store for lunch in Soho....seriously only in new york can you get Udon, bibimbap, pizza, and salad at a little mini mart thing. Delicious. Made our LAST stop at Kid Robot since it was the last day of the sale. I got some Moletown toys, which I am now sad i did not buy a whole box of them, cause they are FRIKIN adorable. Sadly I got two of the Acorn Mole... :( So much pressure with these blind assortment toys. It's like Crack. I'm addicted. I wanted the Whalymole and the Bad Mole....unfortunately SOMEONE ended up with one of the ones I wanted :P damn you.

So many have said i should have a blog....actually I have a million, but I seem to start a bunch of em...and never really go through with it. So this may end up being another one of those, but you know wut, I'll just give it a try.

Since this is my first post, I feel the need to introduce myself. ^_^

My name is Carolina, and I'm just a cool chick trying to enjoy life and make the best of it. I recently graduated from North Carolina State University, and I guess that means i'm stepping into the 'real world' now, is that what we call it nowadays? O_o

I'm not wanting to spill everything about my life all right here...so this is just a start. :) So I hope whoever reads this will enjoy :)
